On 15 July, on the occasion of the Workshop "The Strategic Environmental Assessment in the new EU programming cycle 2014-2020" was organized a session dedicated to the results of the first edition of the Quality Award Bruno Agricola for quality practices in the preparation of Non-Technical Summary in the process of Environmental assessment.
A commission consisting of Professor Vittadini, Jonathan Parker (DG Environment of the European Commission) and experts from the Ministry of the Environment analyzed and evaluated the Non-Technical Summaries on the basis of the following criteria:
The first edition of the Quality Award Bruno Agricola ended with the selection of 5 Non-technical summaries (3 pertaining to SEA procedures and 2 to EIA procedures):
The Award Ceremony was a useful opportunity for reflection and discussion on the theme, enriched by the presence of representatives of other European countries and the presence of the developers who had the opportunity to participate directly with their own experience and in the memory of the Director-General Bruno Agricola.
The applicants selected will receive a certificate for the mention receipt.
Before the conclusion the second edition of the initiative was launched, dedicated to the Competent Authorities for the EIA and SEA. The issue is "Tools and Initiatives for the information and public participation in environmental assessment processes" to highlights the importance of effective communication, evaluating this aspect in the language chosen, in the accessibility and completeness of the disseminated content and the plurality of tools and initiatives used.
The initiative will be publicized on the Environmental Assessment portal.
