Environmental Assessments and Authorizations: SEA - EIA - IPPC Permit

The last step of the process of the new EIA Directive - 2014/52/UE - was accomplished with the publication in the Official Journal of the European Union no. L 124/1 dated 25 April 2014.
The directive will enter into force on 16 May 2014 and the Member States will have to transpose it by 16 May 2017. Pursuant to art. 3 transitional measures are settled according to which new rules apply to projects for which the process of scoping, screening and EIA procedures were initiated after the deadline for transposition, while for the  procedures in progress on that date the provisions previously in force apply (Directive 2011/92/EU prior to the amendments made by Directive 2014/52/UE).
