Environmental Assessments and Authorizations: SEA - EIA - IPPC Permit

On 18 January 2016 the Ministry of Sustainable Development and Tourism of Montenegro asked Italy to notify its interest in participating to the transboundary consultations on the “Programme of Exploration and Production of Hydrocarbons Offshore in Montenegro” according to the provisions of Kiev Protocol.

Montenegro asked to receive by 15 February comments on the Draft Programme, Draft Report and Non-technical Summary all published on the website of the Montenegrin Ministry of Economy and available at the following links:

With letter dated 22 January 2016, Italy notified to the Montenegrin Authorities its interest in participating to the transboundary consultations, asking to receive the translation into Italian of the Non-technical Summary and to be allowed an extended period for the submission of comments, in order to facilitate public consultation in Italy.

As so far, despite reminders, no tangible results have been obtained, the Ministry of the Environment is currently preparing the Italian comments within the times and in the manner provided for by the Montenegrin Authorities. Therefore, contributions can be sent by certified e-mail to the following address: DGSalvaguardia.Ambientale@PEC.minambiente.it by 10 February 2016.

In view of the limited time available, to take closer account of the contributions, it is recommended to send them also in Word format and drawn up in English language.
